Laughing

Its no joke! Laughing helps to reduce stress. Whether you're laughing at a comedy TV show, quietly giggling at a cartoon, or chatting amusingly amongst friends, laughing does put you in a good mood. A good sense of humour can't cure all ailments however it is about the positive things laughter can do for you. Laughter can stimulate many organs in the body which then enhances your intake of oxygen rich air that stimulates your heart, lungs and muscles which increases endorphins and relaxes and relieves tension and stress in your body. Laughter can also stimulate circulation and aid muscle relaxation, both of which can help to reduce some of the physical symptoms of stress.

Exercise

Exercise increases your overall health and your sense of well-being, which puts more pep in your step every day. We all want to feel energized, right?  But exercise also has some direct stress-busting benefits. It pumps up your endorphins and physical activity may help boost up the production of your brain's feel-good neurotransmitters, called endorphins which helps to relieve stress and anxiety in your body and mind. Exercise can be anything from a nice country run, a brisk walk with the dog, a yoga session or even a workout in the gym. Let's take the steps to feel great!

Well-being Essentials

Essential oils are a great way to change your mood quickly. As you breathe in, the aroma from the oil immediately stimulates your central nervous system, triggering an emotional response, resulting in reducing anxiety and stress quickly. Lavender is known as one of the most common essential oils to effectively reduce stress. Mix The SOiL Organic Aromatherapy Lavender essential oil with a carrier oil such as jojoba and apply to your temples. The temples are a key pressure point.

Focus on Breathing

Just focusing on your breath or changing the way your breathe can make a big difference to your overall stress level. Breathing techniques can calm your body and your braind in just a few minutes.
The best thing is, no one around you will ever know you are doing them, so you can do them anywhere, in a stressful meeting, or sitting in a crowded area, breathing exercises could be the key to reduce your stress.
Breathing exercises are simple - Simply breathe in through your nose and watch your belly fill with air. Count slowly to three as you inhale. Hold for one second and then slowly breathe out through your nose as you count to three again. Repeat until you feel relaxed.

Breath is the power behind all things......I breathe in and know that good things will happen!

Disclaimer

Please note that All SOiL essential oils are intended for external use only. Unless otherwise advised by a medical practitioner. Do not use undiluted on skin. Do not apply to broken or irritated skin. If sensitivity occurs discontinue use. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking any medications or under medical supervision seek professional advice before use. Please keep out of reach of children.

SOiL advocates the responsible use of essential oils. We grow and source the finest quality essential oils from around the world to supply you with pure, potent plant extracts for aromatic and therapeutic applications. Essential oils are many times stronger than the plants they are derived from and are far more concentrated than the herbal tincture extracted from the same plant.

Accordingly, we recommend that you avoid oral use/ingesting pure essential oils without seeking professional advice beforehand. The issue is not the quality of the essential oils you take orally – there is no such thing as a ‘therapeutic grade’ of essential oil nor is one brand of essential oils safe to ingest over another brand. The issue is safety and even though essential oils are 100% natural, plant-derived extracts, they are botanical medicines which have the potential to cause harmful side effects when taken orally. Essential oils should only be prescribed for oral use in a clinical setting, by a suitably qualified practitioner.

There are many methods of obtaining the aromatic and therapeutic benefits of essential oils, namely; inhalation, massage, skincare preparations, bath and compress. If you require individual advice on oral use/ingestion or in relation to a specific medical condition, we recommend you consult a qualified practitioner, as described above.
